The Heinz-Steyer Stadium is back

The newly renovated and expanded stadium is taking sport in Dresden to the next level. The Heinz Steyer Stadium now offers the best training and competition conditions for top-level, club and recreational sports. This enables Dresden to once again host major sporting events and national and international competitions at the highest level and with great enthusiasm. Dresden is proud and looking forward to new records and highlights. The M4Energy City Biathlon was one of the first major events to light up the new stadium. Dresden is proud of this extraordinary and promising sports venue in the heart of Dresden.

The new multifunctional southern grandstand offers athletes four floors of facilities, including a fencing hall with ten fencing strips, a squash area with five courts, a strength and athletics area, and rooms for cycling, ballet, gymnastics and courses. The multi-purpose room is used for sports and education as well as a VIP area. There are also changing rooms and sanitary facilities, offices and rooms for Dresden sports clubs, and a sports equipment shop. The entrance to the south stand is designed as a lobby with a reception desk and two multifunctional rooms. Two openings lead into the stadium with its grass pitch and athletics facilities, including nine tartan running tracks, sprint tracks that can be used in both directions, long jump facilities, pole vault/high jump and javelin positions, as well as shot put and discus facilities. The stadium has 10,400 seats, 5,400 of which are covered. The spectator capacity can be expanded to up to 15,000 people with mobile stands in the corner areas. After its eventful history, the Heinz Steyer Stadium now shines in new splendour.
