Biathlon event on Sunday, 27 September with adapted event concept
The City-Biathlon Wiesbaden on 27 September 2020 will take place – with significantly reduced spectator numbers and an adapted concept. Top athletes from ten nations will come to the Hessian state capital and face the exciting exchange of shots in the only major summer competition. Biathlon fans can still look forward to the biathlon elite, a thrilling race and breathtaking pictures thanks to extensive live TV coverage in numerous European countries.
Despite the COVID-19 pandemic, the come together of the biathlon stars can be held in the city centre around the Bowling Green at the end of September - of course in compliance with the valid distancing and hygiene rules.
The organising agency n plus sport GmbH and the city of Wiesbaden agreed on an adapted event and hygiene concept. Thus, there will be no large grandstand on the Wilhelmstraße, nor will the supporting programme and side events take place this year. The course will be slightly adjusted to avoid crowds of spectators. Nevertheless, there will be selective opportunities for registered visitors to experience this sports highlight. In addition, ZDF will broadcast the main men's and women's races live on Sunday afternoon.
Purchased tickets have to be returned via the online ticket portals against reimbursement, detailed information on the process will be available shortly.
Further details, the participating athletes as well as the possibilities for spectators will be announced at the official press conference on August 11th in Wiesbaden.
